Japanese 1969 Time Travel

Come with me and let's time travel to 1969... Let us adventure across Japan, from city to mountain sides. Over the last few months, I've managed to pick up yet another new hobby. I've been purchasing old 35mm film slides on eBay and other auction sites, mostly out of curiosity and that strong urge to preserve these images that have slowly been forgotten.
I could only imagine how many times over the years this trip may have been shared with this mystery adventurer's family and friends. Can you just imagine the tales and experiences they must have spoken about as they clicked the advance button of the carousel slide projector, each time bringing up a new image from a far away and distant land that most back then had only dreamt of visiting.

On A Roll January 2024 Ilford SFX 200

Starting the year off with a roll of Ilford SFX 200 “Ilford SFX 200 is a medium speed black & white film with extended red sensitivity which makes it the perfect choice for infra-red style images. When used with a deep red filter, SFX 200 renders blue skies almost black and green vegetation almost white to create a stunning infra-red look to your shots. Unlike traditional infra-red materials, SFX 200 can be loaded in subdued light and is compatible with all normal black & white developers producing high quality negatives of moderate contrast. SFX 200 can also be used with other colored filters such as yellow, orange or light red to produce equally dramatic special effects.” (Ilford’s Website).

This film stock was amazing to shoot and developed. The contrast, sharpness and grain were really pleasing. The red color sensitivity made for really great outdoor shots.

Cayman Brac Day Trip May 2023

I spent a day and change in Cayman Brac, an island where from the fresh age of 3 months old I spent 16 years of my childhood. I spent most of the time on this trip working on a project for the Cayman Islands National Gallery and in my down time I did a bit of wildlife photography.

My Favorite Shots from my last roll of Cinestill BW XX. Over a one day trip to Cayman Brac where I shot this uniquely contrast intense roll of Black and White film which makes every image pop with a timeless style. The goal was to capture an image of an antique collector amongst all her many collected items, many of which are strange and extremely rare.
